A comprehensive approach to supporting first responders, strengthening communities and preparing the Upper Cumberland and surrounding areas to respond effectively when neighbors need them most.
Every Serve Strong program is built around one shared mission: supporting First Responders and preparing communities before emergencies happen. From responder mental and physical wellness, training, and family support to community CPR, AED and bleed control, each program works together to strengthen first responders and equip and prepare our neighbors when seconds matters. Emergencies know no boundaries and preparedness shouldn't either.
The Serve Strong: Save Strong Mobile Preparedness Program brings advanced training directly to First Responders while also bringing basic life saving training to schools, churches, businesses, communities throughout the Upper Cumberland and surrounding areas. Using a fully equipped mobile training unit, we provide easy access to advanced simulation technology, as well as CPR, AED, bleeding control, disaster preparedness, and other emergency education for first responder agencies and the public. By making high quality training accessible and affordable, we’re helping build stronger first responders, safer communities and neighbors prepared to act when seconds matter.
The Sleep Strong Program supports the health, safety, and well-being of first responders by addressing one of the most overlooked challenges facing emergency services. Quality Sleep. Through first responder education, sleep facility or bunkroom improvements, quality bedding, night stands, and charging stations, and sleep hygiene resources, Serve Strong’s Sleep Strong program helps reduce fatigue, improve recovery, and enhance decision-making. Research shows that when those who protect our communities are better rested, they are better prepared to protect us all.
Our Home Away from Home Program enhances the living spaces where first responders spend countless hours serving their communities. From furniture, appliances, and station repairs, to fitness equipment and other quality of life improvements, we help create environments that promote rest, wellness, and a sense of value. Because many First Responders spend as much time, if not more, at their stations than at home, investing in those spaces improves morale, supports recruitment and retention, and reminds the men and women who serve us that their communities are committed to serving them. We recognize that many agencies simply cannot afford to upgrade these important items and that’s just another “gap” we’re willing to fill.
Strong families help build strong first responders. Through our family support initiatives including our popular First Kids Program, Serve Strong: Corban Scott Goad Memorial Foundation supports the children of first responders as well as children impacted by trauma. Whether providing comfort resources, encouragement, or practical support, we strive to help kids feel safe while helping them navigate difficult moments. When we care for the families behind the badge, we strengthen those who serve and the communities they protect.
Our Simulation and Equipment program helps responder agencies strengthen their training and readiness by providing simulation technology, specialized training resources, and essential operational equipment that might otherwise be beyond their budgets. From realistic training tools to practical equipment that enhances preparedness, this program helps agencies improve skills, expand capabilities and better prepare for the emergencies they face every day. By filling critical resource gaps, we’re helping first responders train smarter, respond more effectively, and keep our communities safer and stronger.
The Advanced Training program connects first responders across the Upper Cumberland with training and education from respected regional and nationally recognized experts. Whether it’s advanced burn care training through Vanderbilt, refresher courses from Erlanger, Resilience Training or other professional development opportunities, we help bring world-class instruction closer to home. By making advanced training more accessible, we’re helping first responders strengthen their skills, grow professionally and deliver the highest level of care to the Upper Cumberland and surrounding areas.
Held annually at the request of first responders, the Serve Strong: First Responders Resilience Summit is a gathering dedicated to the long-term health and resilience of first responders throughout the Upper Cumberland. Bringing together firefighters, law enforcement, EMS, rescue agencies and trusted partners, the Resilience Summit combines practical education, expert insight, and meaningful encouragement to address resilience, mental wellness, and post-traumatic stress. The next Serve Strong: First Responders Resilience Summit is planned for Late May or Early June 2027.
Through our Learn Strong scholarship program we invest in the future of public safety by providing educational scholarships, advanced certification courses, and professional development for current and future first responders. By supporting learning, leadership, and career advancement, we’re building stronger agencies and safer stronger communities.
The Serve Strong Hospitality Program is built on the belief that encouragement matters. Through unexpected station visits, snacks, refreshments, or other thoughtful gestures, we simply want first responders to know their service is seen, appreciated and never taken for granted. Whether it’s cookies, sandwiches, bottled waters, or a frozen drink in the summer, or a sincere offer to pray with or for a first responder, sometimes a small act of kindness is exactly the reminder someone needs during a long shift. This is one of our simplest programs that makes a meaningful impact.
Whether you choose to donate, volunteer, or partner with Serve Strong: Corban Scott Goad Memorial Foundation, you become part of a mission dedicated to supporting first responders, strengthening families, and building safer, better prepared communities throughout the Upper Cumberland and surrounding areas.
Together, we’re filling in the gaps for Heroes!
